Re-tooling and cleaning up this blog for regular use again

This blog has obviously not been used in almost four years. Hopefully that will change. While fumbling around with blogger today and not at all used to the changes that have been made since I last regularly used this blog, I've decided that rather than start from scratch and having to modify a whole new template to my liking, I'll just stick with this one. There will be changes to the content on the sidebars, since most of it is now irrelevant. The blogs I followed four years ago may or may not still be in use today so those links will be eliminated. So too will I likely eliminate the Red Sox schedule that is from 2011.
