Robin Williams (1951-2014)

Famous people die every day, just like the rest of us. Robin Williams died a year ago yesterday. Of all the celebrity deaths in the last year I am still stung the most by his. For the tragic way he died. For someone who seemingly had a great life and everything to live for. For someone who brought joy to and touched millions of lives with his jokes and humor. For someone who didn't know or refused to see the people in his life who loved and cared about him and who would have offered a word of encouragement or help but didn't know.

Suffering from depression is a rough deal. No one but that person knows it's happening. There aren't many outward symptoms and those that are often go undetected. I can't even imagine having the feeling that life is so horrible that there is nothing to live for. Can't comprehend it. So today, in honor of Mr. Williams, I wore my Mork and Mindy tee shirt. Nanu-nanu. <
