Okay, to whet your appetite for the really good pics...
I thought I'd bore you to death with these...

Let me tell you right off that these pictures...

...don't really convey how awesome the view was outside my window.

I couldn't tell you what we were flying over
but does it really matter?

In an unrelated note, today is ex's birthday. Happy 34th, K.

These are fabulous! Check out the colors in the horizon (especially in the first 3 pics).
I'd love to step out and walk barefoot on that carpet of clouds.
(Yeah, I know, the first step would be killer)

As much as I travel, it never occurs to me to take pics in the plane. Duh. I have to do that from now on. These are nice. I remember flying over New Mexico and being amazed at how far the brown goes. (I'm used to green.)

green,

if gazing upon the beauty of god's compost is negative? Then I...hmmm, I'll get back to thee.

Great pictures! The last time I flew (many years ago) we came back from the west coast at night and flew over thunder/lightning storms. Very cool images.

green, thanks for showing me the clouds in a way i've never seen before. I'm mesmerized...

You're making it all the more easy for me to actually visualize myself boarding one of those flying machines. :)

sable: I had forgotten how beautiful clouds can be from below.

scribe: why do you call the clouds God's compost heap?

phil: welcome to my blog & thanks for commenting. Hope you'll read & comment here more often...

my child, only in our western absolutist black and white reasoning would be consider compost to be negative. There is a circle of life that revolves uninterrupted by our stupidty or arrogance, and waste is a part of that circle. It is symbolic of rebirth. A compost heap is organic matter that has passed into decay, piled into a spot wher eit can evolve into something new and again prove useful. The clouds are the same thing as they greet and end each brand new day.

You can read all about this in the Church of Scribe's "Why them clouds is up there," yours now for only $12.95.

constant: aren't they?

scribe: I understand the principles of compost heaps but it doesn't take away from the negative connotations that go along with it.

silent wish: thanks. glad you like them. Stop by anytime you like, ok?
